Lights, Camera, Action! Join the 2nd Inner West Film Fest, April 11-21, 2024!

After a successful run 2023, the 2nd Inner West Film Fest is coming back from 11 to 21 April 2024, and it’s going to be bigger and bolder. Established in 2023 by a dedicated team of film enthusiasts and professionals, including Dov Kornits, the founder of FilmInk, and Dr. Greg Dolgopolov, a senior lecturer at UNSW.

"We can't wait for the second edition of the film fest following our fantastic run in 2023," said festival co-director Dov Kornits. "It's crucial to champion the work of young local filmmakers and provide a platform for established creators to pitch their projects. This festival is all about fostering talent and bringing fresh voices to the forefront of the industry."

The Pitching Competition is a pivotal platform for emerging filmmakers to establish themselves. In 2023, the Inner West Film Fest crowned Jayden Rathsam Hüa as the winner with his gripping horror feature, 'MATRIARCH,' a captivating adaptation of his short film 'SUSHI NOH.' Notably, 'MATRIARCH' secured Screen Australia Development Funding in the same year. Among the finalists was 'THE UNDESIRABLES,' a comedic drama set in a vibrant Western Sydney music scene, directed by Luke Agius and produced by Matthew C. Vella. The film recently commenced shooting in Blacktown.

Now in its second year, the Pitching Competition beckons filmmakers to embark on their passion projects. Submissions are now open, offering an unparalleled opportunity for emerging talent to shine (and network).

The clock is ticking! Festival submissions are officially open until March 1, 2024, for the regular deadline.
