About
Inner West Film Fest

The Inner West Film Fest was established in 2023 by a dedicated consortium of film enthusiasts and professionals, including Dov Kornits, the founder of Filmink, and Dr. Greg Dolgopolov, a senior lecturer at UNSW. The festival's primary goal is to enrich the Inner West Sydney community by introducing an array of engaging, historical, and culturally significant film-related events. Additionally, it aims to attract visitors from outside the Inner West, inviting them to explore and appreciate the charm of this region.

From Marrickville, Enmore and Newtown, across to Leichhardt, Balmain and Rozelle, Dulwich Hill, Lilyfield, Camperdown and Enmore, and all parts in between, Sydney’s Inner West is packed-to-bursting with creative energy, alive with cultural electricity thanks to its largely artisan population. Once and still a vibrant multicultural community, the Inner West’s industrial past has given way to its highly expressive present, with artists, students, musicians, writers, performers and filmmakers happily winding their way through its busy, bustling streets.

Across venues including the legendary Marrickville Golf Club, Dendy Cinemas Newtown, and Palace Norton Street in Leichhardt, The Inner West Film Fest taps into the values of the area and boasts a diverse, inclusive and utterly fascinating selection of film premieres from Australia and abroad.
